Founders Day Festival Memories

It was another great Founders Day Festival in Dripping Springs this past weekend.  It always amazes me to see how many creative and talented friends we have who are participating in all areas of this famous old DS event.  Many we knew were smoking anything with legs in the cook-off contest -- not to mention burning our lips with incredible and unusual homemade salsas.  Several of our pals were showing hand-crafted jewelry and art in the vendor area.  Over on the stage, I was thrilled to see so many of my friends who are tremendous musicians performing for the crowd.  I don't think you could live anywhere else and be blessed with such talent:  Lonnie Atkinson, Jim Halfpenny, Ron White, Ragan Altizer, Nathan Thrash and Martin Aker of Edison Chair -- check them out, they're going to be big!  Martin's parent's Deborah and Roger kept us all rocking with their magical classic hits and John Rogers fiddled away with the headline group Saturday night.  Stay tuned to for more on this great music.
