Kick Off Summer with Music at the Pound House

The Dr. Pound House Pioneer Farmstead and Museum at Founder’s Park will kick off the first-ever summer music series event on the grounds with a salute to Flag Day tonight from 7-8:30PM. The outdoor evening jam under the live oak trees will feature the Double Eagle String Band, a 5-member hot string ensemble that plays traditional music from the Civil War to World War II, and can do everything from ballads to breakdance. So bring your dancing shoes, something to drink and a blanket to sit on with the kids, who will also enjoy ice cream and popcorn for sale from The Big Drip ice cream parlor! The event is free but please consider supporting our local musicians with a contribution to the tip jar.
